VFW Patriot Pen Essay Contest

Posted on: February 2, 2021

The 6th grade APT and Reading enrichment students wrote essays for a contest sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). The Patriot Pen essay contest theme this year is “What Is Patriotism to Me?” As described by the VFW website and contest rules, “the essay contest encourages young minds to examine America’s history, along with their own experiences in modern American society, by drafting a 300- to 400-word essay, expressing their views based on this theme."

All students who turned in an essay and form were entered into the contest.

These students received a certificate and pen for their efforts.
