Alumni visit to read author's book

The halls of Taylor School District were filled with nostalgia and excitement as three distinguished alumni returned to their alma mater for a special visit. Andrea Glendenning Hyatt, Julie Clark Linsey, and Karen Orebaugh Hanlon, all graduates of Taylor High School, graced the campus with their presence, reconnecting with former teacher, Marney Murphy.

Andrea Glendenning Hyatt, currently a first-grade teacher and published children's book author based in Michigan, captivated the young minds of Three Rivers Elementary first graders. She read from her acclaimed children's book, Juliett’s Web, sparking their imaginations and fostering a love for reading. Additionally, Andrea shared insights and experiences with fifth-grade classes, inspiring them to pursue their passions and dreams.

Joining Andrea in the journey down memory lane were fellow alumni Julie Clark Linsey and Karen Orebaugh Hanlon. Both Julie and Karen took the opportunity to engage with various classes, sharing anecdotes from their time at Taylor and offering valuable advice to current students.

Mrs. Murphy, a beloved teacher who had the privilege of teaching all three alumni during their time at Taylor, expressed her delight at welcoming them back to their alma mater. "Having Andrea, Julie, and Karen back at Taylor was truly special. It's a testament to the enduring bond that our alumni share with this school," remarked Mrs. Murphy. "Their visit served as a source of inspiration for both students and staff alike."

The Taylor School District extends its heartfelt gratitude to Andrea Glendenning Hyatt, Julie Clark Linsey, and Karen Orebaugh Hanlon for taking the time to reconnect with their roots and for inspiring the next generation of Taylor graduates. Their visit served as a reminder of the lasting impact of education and the enduring spirit of the Three Rivers community.
