DECA District 5 Conference 2022

On January 26, 2022, students from the Great Oaks-Taylor High School Business Management program, led by Mrs. Katy Heller, traveled to the Harrison Activity Center for the DECA District 5 Conference. DECA is a business-marketing student organization that provides students with an opportunity to compete in a wide variety of business, marketing, finance, and accounting events. 

The following students from the Great Oaks-Taylor High School Business Management program qualified for DECA Career Development Conference.

  • Owen Burger, Accounting Services, 1st Place

  • Eli Pearson, Principles of Finances, 2nd Place

  • Owen Larkins, Entrepreneurship, 1st Place

  • Linsey Groppe-Unthank, Principles of Hospitality and Tourism, 4th Place

  • Colby Glecker and Brayden Kincaid, Buying and Merchandising Team, 4th Place

  • Harry Hilvert, John Kearns, and Sophia Thoma, Start-Up Business Plan, 3rd Place

 

On March 11-12, 2022 Great Oaks-Taylor High School DECA students traveled to Columbus, Ohio to compete at the DECA Career Development Conference with statewide DECA advisories. The following students earned a medal (Top 10) in their respective events.

  • Owen Burger, Accounting Services, 7th Place

  • Nicki Grauel and Kylie Groppe-Unthank, Sports and Entertainment Research Project, 6th Place
