Three Rivers School District

Cleves, OH – The Three Rivers Local Schools Board of Education seeks applicants to fill the unexpired term of board member Christina Hughes, who has resigned effective May 24, 2026. 

The board will begin interviewing candidates soon and must appoint a replacement within 30 days of the effective resignation date. The newly appointed member will serve through December 2027. If the appointed member desires to continue serving, he or she must run in the 2027 general election. 

Christina Hughes began her service to the TRLSD Board of Education in January 2022. She recently made the decision to resign from the Board in order to spend more time with her family, and we respect and support that decision. 

Speaking on behalf of the Board of Education, Board President Garyne Evans stated: 

“I want to thank Christina for her dedicated service to Three Rivers Local Schools. Her leadership and commitment were especially impactful as we navigated the challenges presented in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, helping our district remain focused on students and families during an unprecedented time. Christina has been a strong community liaison, a passionate advocate for the arts, and a consistent supporter of the ACCLAIM Foundation. We are grateful for her contributions and wish her all the best moving forward.”

Mr. Evans stated that the board will review all letters of interest and plans to announce the appointment at its June 9, 2026 meeting. 

According to Ohio law, people serving on Ohio school boards must be at least 18 years old, district residents, and registered voters. 

Interested candidates are asked to submit a letter of interest to Mr. Evans at gevans@trlsd.org no later than Friday, May 15, 2026. Letters of interest should include:

  • A brief introduction and background, including relevant professional and community experience

  • A statement outlining interest in serving on the Board of Education

  • Perspective on the role and responsibilities of a board member

  • Relevant skills, qualifications, or experiences

  • A brief reflection on commitment to supporting the students, staff, and community of Three Rivers Local Schools

The Three Rivers Local School District serves 1900+ students from Addyston, Cleves, North Bend, and parts of Miami Township at the Three Rivers Educational Campus in Cleves.
