Congratulations to our state DI teams who participated in Mt. Vernon. Two of our teams, the Labyrinth Escapers and Mischievous Ones, qualified for Global Finals in Knoxville, Tennessee!

Elementary teams:

The 4th-grade engineering team, Desert Dominance, had their best team performance and finished seventh place in the state! Team members include Jack Hawkins, Nick Ream, Anna Miller, Brayden Gratz, Chase Ausdenmoore, Jillian Bender, and Hudson Mercer.

A huge congratulations go to our 3rd-grade technical team, the Labyrinth Escapers, who qualified for Global Finals in Knoxville, TN at the end of May.  These students performed a strong skit about sailors and pirates, while navigating a pirate ship through a maze using technical methods.  They also performed a task in their instant challenge and succeeded in solving their problem!  Team members include Jason McCollum, who navigated the pirate ship through the maze; Abbi Penn, Brandon Gardner, and Vincent Soloria, who were all the pesky pirates determined to steal the gold coins; and David Barthelmeh, Kalli Woodrum, who were the sailors responsible to deliver the gold coins.

Middle School teams:

A huge congratulations go to our 5th-grade improv team, the Mischievous Ones, who also qualified for global finals in Knoxville, TN at the end of May. These students performed a skit that had to be created right on the spot. Their task was to include an unlikely location, an unusual setback, a cultural treasure, and two researchers in their improv skit.  Team members include our two funny researchers, Wiley Glasgow and Adam Hiser; the narrator who directs the story, Wes Johnson; and our cultural treasure owner, Olivia Doss. They also had to perform a task instant challenge and succeeded in solving their problem!
