Taylor Middle School

Welcome From Principal Simms

Dear Families,

Mr. Kevin Cook and I would like to welcome you to Taylor Middle School. We hope you all are healthy and happy and are as eager to continue learning as we are.

These are unprecedented times, with many unknowns. This year we are focusing on:

  • Implementing very strict cleaning guidelines and safety protocols, while understanding that we cannot guarantee 6ft of social distancing

  • Ensuring students feel connected whether they are attending in person or learning virtually

  • Creating an environment where students will be challenged by new learning and experiences

Spring of 2020 has tasked staff and students to find a new normal for learning. What this process has taught us is the importance of communication, patience, and kindness. We appreciate our students, parents, staff, and community for recognizing the challenges we were all facing and staying positive and being supportive of one another.

We want to emphasize that, although our fall may not be “normal”, the staff at TMS is committed to ensuring that learning will not only continue but thrive. Please know, all returning and new students to TMS will be welcomed with open arms (from 6 feet away) as a proud Yellow Jacket - we will continue to grow together!

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards; there will be no shortage of opportunities for your student to feel challenged on a daily basis with high-quality instruction. They will also have a wide variety of options to get connected to their school and community. We could not make this possible without our community support: The Elementary/Middle School PTO, The Children’s Home Of Cincinnati, our local churches, and local businesses. Thank you to the many community organizations (too many to be named here) for helping and supporting our students.
