Carl Hunsicker/3 Rivers
Educational Foundation
Mr. Carl Hunsicker grew up in Delhi Township. In 1958 he bought the property in North Bend, which had been the site of the Cliff View Restaurant. He had the existing building torn down and built his home on the bluff overlooking the river. Carl and his wife spent many hours through the years watching the boats and barges from their river porch. Mr. Hunsicker was a lover of nature. In spite of failing health, he continued to feed the raccoons and birds. He was a long time member of the American Forestry Association and the Nature Conservancy. Until last month, Mr. Hunsicker met his long time friends for their daily luncheon. This was an important part of his life as he valued their friendships. His keen sense of humor will be missed. Mr. Hunsicker's wife, Marianne, preceded him in death in 1994. He is the brother of Arthur Hunsicker and Edith Henlein. Carl was the brother of the late Ruth Reichert and Thelma Kochman. Carl was co-owner of the 240 acre estate of the late Dr. John Aston Warder. Warder established the American Forestry Association. The property is now the site of the Aston Oaks Development. ~written 1 month after Carl Hunsicker died on November 13, 2001 at the age of 92 |
